What is Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)?
Indian prime minister Narendra Modi realized that Make In India, Startups and making India as a business hub is not sufficient for the youth and those will not be fully successful without having adequate skilled labour. Hence, PM on March, 2015 directed the newly developed Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to make and realise the flagship scheme called “Pradhan Mantri Kausal Vikas Yojana”. This scheme is launched in every state on 15th July, 2015 observing as National Skills Day.
Under this scheme, Rs. 1500 crore will be expended and about 24lakh youth will be benefitted. This will be beneficial to bring the dropout students, lower economic class students to the mainstream. The youth of India both boys and girls will be provided a skill based training.

Functioning of the Yojana
· PMKVY will be implemented through institutions involving National Skill Development Corporation, Sector Skill Councils, Assessing Agencies, and Training Agencies.
· National Occupational standards and Qualification standards will be maintained by the agencies
· All approved training partners by NSDC will have their own franchise network and infrastructure.
· Skills training, personal development and other related stuffs will be trained to the candidates. Skill up gradation and enhancing the existing skills will also be entertained.
· After successful training period candidates will be provided with placements solutions and even monetary rewards.
· Finance and monetary rewards will be directly transferred to the trainee’s bank account.
· Audits will be checked regularly and surprising visits will be carried out to monitor the training.
Eligibility of the Candidates
Every Indian citizen both men and women are eligible for this skill based training program. Aadhaar number will be used for unique identification of the candidates.
